Residents in the Clinton area have a new place to get their burrito, quesadilla, carnitas and many other Mexican foods fix. MexiBro Mexican Grill has opened up in Clinton and it's the first of its kind in the area.

Most of us have been to a Pancheros, Chipotle or Qdoba in our lives. The "build your own" burrito restaurants have gained a lot of popularity over the past few years. Well, Clinton has a new Mexican restaurant that are similar to the restaurants listed before, but this place is the first of its kind in the area.

MexiBro Mexican Grill, located at 254 Main Avenue in Clinton, opened its doors officially on Wednesday at 11 a.m. to the public. Elis Fazliu of Clinton is the owner and founder of MexiBro Mexican Grill in Clinton. Originally, Fazliu had plans to open before the end of October, but in a social media announcement, a family emergency pushed back their grand opening.

I had the chance to talk with Fazliu over the phone to find out more about MexiBro and what his restaurant has to offer. Fazliu told me in our interview that MexiBro offers menu items like burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, carnitas, tacos and many favorite Mexican food items.

MexiBro had their soft opening to give their staff a test run and allow a few Clinton residents to give it a try. I asked Fazliu about their soft opening that happened on Friday, October 30 and he told me,

"It went great! We had bankers, city officials, the mayor (Clinton Mayor Scott Maddasion), police officers and many other people. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it."

Because it is 2020, I asked Fazliu if MexiBro has cleaning and sanitation procedures put in place. He told me,

"Of course. We have a person cleaning and sanitizing tables right away after they have been used. We also have a glass guard where the food is made."

With delivery on the rise, I asked Fazliu if MexiBro offers delivery to those who can't dine in, or who aren't comfortable sitting down at restaurants because of COVID-19. They currently do not offer delivery but Fazliu said,

"We are currently working on something when it comes to delivery."

MexiBro Mexican Grill in Clinton is the first location with that name. Fazliu told me that he hopes to open more MexiBro locations in the future and expand its footprint

If you want to go check out MexiBro, the restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.

Finally, I asked Fazliu if he had anything else to add before we got off of the phone and he said,

"We're just very happy to be open, and I'm happy to be the first business like this in Clinton."
