New Mexican Restaurant Opens in LeClaire

There are many delicious restaurants and places to drink in LeClaire and now there's a new Mexican restaurant for you to try there too.

La Herradura has recently opened at 540 N Cody Rd., LeClaire so I had to go.

We checked it out last Thursday. The restaurant was full of customers, the decor simple and comfortable and the menu was everything you want for Mexican food. We were greeted and seated promptly and our drink order taken. I tried the margarita and my dining guest had a Modelo. We chomped on chips and salsa while we poured over the menu.

I opted for a create your own plate so I could try different things. I got a hard shell taco, beef enchilada and a beef burrito. My companion had a steak taco, enchilada and a taco supremo.

It took a bit longer for our server to take our order, but we weren't in a rush. I come from a restaurant family and I understand being patient in the first few opening days. It was worth the wait.

When our food arrived it was hot, fresh and delicious and we loved the presentation. Staff was attentive, friendly and kept our drinks coming. This may be our new favorite restaurant.

While we were there, we saw many people picking up orders to-go and overheard other customers talking about how delicious their food was. I'm anxious to try shrimp tacos and fajitas next time I go. Here's a glimpse of the menu.

The restaurant is closed on Mondays, but open for lunch and dinner every day of the week.

The restaurant is also hiring part-time help as well.
