Heads up Davenport residents, you might want to make extra sure your doors and windows are locked. According to KWQC, police are warning people about a new door-to-door scam that is happening.

Per the reports, "an individual will knock on your door asking for money for diapers, a drink of water or offer to assist with lawn care or outside projects." The person will be persistent, and once they have gotten inside the door, they will attempt a theft.

Police are advising to keep your doors and windows locked, and to not open them to anyone you don't know. They also recommend that if someone does come to the door, always look out a window to see them. Once they know that someone is actually home, they will likely be deterred from trying to force entry.

In short, be safe and be alert Quad Citizens! Hopefully this will come to a stop.
