The Quad City Steamwheelers are gearing up for another exciting season — and they’re holding open tryouts for new talent. The Steamwheelers are hungry, motivated, and ready to build on last year’s success, and this could be your chance to join a winning team on the rise.

The Quad City Steamwheelers are hosting their 2026 Steamwheelers Showcase Tryouts on Sunday, December 7th at The Ambrose Dome in Davenport. It’s your chance to become a professional athlete in the Indoor Football League.

A Coach’s Eye for Talent

Head Coach Cory Ross will be there scouting new talent, searching for the next big star to rock the navy, red, and gold. And according to Steamwheelers General Manager Destiny Brown, this event is about more than just football; it’s about second chances and local pride.

“There is something to be said about having the chance to play professional football and to showcase what others may have doubted,” Brown said. “Being a Quad Cities native and starting with the Steamwheelers as an intern, we always look forward to giving locals the chance to make their hometown team.”

The Steamwheelers have a strong reputation for spotting hidden gems right in their own backyard. “We have found hidden gems in our own backyard and pride ourselves on being one of the most homegrown teams in the IFL,” Brown added.
