In a social media post on Monday, the owners of Taste Buds in downtown Rock Island (150 16 1/2 Street) announced they will be closing up shop for good. The candy store/coffee shop/tea room has been open in downtown Rock Island for more than 2 years but that run will come to an end at the end of next month.

Owners of Taste Buds said that writing the announcement of their closure was done with heavy hearts. The post on Facebook starts by saying,

"After a lot of discussion and lots of (good) recent changes in our lives, we have decided to close our shop effective August 31st. It’s been a heck of a ride these past 2+ years and we want to thank you all for your business and support."

Taste Buds' hours will not change very much as they near the closing of the shop on Wednesday, August 31st. For those who want to visit Taste Buds either the first or numerous times and it's outside of their hours, the owners will do their best to down and let you shop if it's possible.

The closing of Taste Buds will come with great deals on some of their products. Starting August 1st, Taste Buds says that all of its candy and chocolates will be 50% off. Loose coffee beans and teas will be 25% off. Any prepared drinks will be the same price.

The owners of Taste Buds say they will still be updating on their Facebook page until they close and encourage customers to keep checking in.
