Rock Island’s Madison Keys Seems Back to Form

It was heartbreaking to watch local gal Madison Keys from Rock Island struggling to overcome the pain in her left wrist with every backhand in her second round match at The French Open in May.

Post surgery pain from a procedure to fix her wrist back in January should have dissipated by Paris. But, at Roland Garros, it was worse than ever.

Madison bit the proverbial bullet and had a second surgery three weeks ago, in the middle of the season. She worked hard to return for Wimbledon this week.

Tennis.com reported that Keys looked back to form in her first round match on Monday. She handily defeated Nao Hibino 6-4, 6-2.

She faces Italian Camila Giorgi in a second round match on Wednesday morning at 9:45am.
