The Perfect Event For Chili Fans In The Quad Cities
We are still seeing chilly weather which is the perfect time for chili weather! ( I had to make that joke) You can support BSA Troop 109 this Saturday, February 26, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The event is hosted at Culemans Hall and this year will be the 4th Annual Ben Rogers Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser Event!
More About The Event
Who is Ben Rogers you might be asking? He became the Scoutmaster for the troop in 1999 and remained in that position until 2012. He would supervise the Scout’s cooking at Loud Thunder Scout Camp and also spent a great deal of time in the kitchen cooking for hungry campers. One of his favorite things to make was of course chili. So, 3 years ago with the troop’s Centennial celebration approaching, a new fundraiser was born — a Chili Cook-Off. The fundraiser was a great success in terms of fundraising and also fostering a strong fellowship between the troop and Sacred Heart.
Ben remained a huge member of Troop 109 up until his passing last year. His legacy will continue to be honored with the Chili Cook-Off and he will always be remembered by his troop for his amazing contributions and incredible cooking.
