The Quad Cities Favorite Rom-Coms
We've looked at countless Quad Cities' favorite movies all summer long as we live through this quarantine. Lately we have been looking at specific genres and today we jump into romantic comedies.
For this list we look at, IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and esquire.
4. 50 first dates (2004)
This was one of the first Adam Sandler movies I saw as a kid, and I saw it a lot because my parents loved it. The plot is as follows: Henry Roth is a man afraid of commitment up until he meets the beautiful Lucy. They hit it off and Henry think he's finally found the girl of his dreams, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and forgets him the next day.
3. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Very Simple and to the point. A pretty, popular teenager can't go out on a date until her ill-tempered older sister does.
2. Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Another simple plot, but an absolutely amazing movie! You follow a New Yorker Rachel Chu to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family.
Honorable Mentions
1. Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
A story loved by many. After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own.
