When I was growing up, I slept above the kitchen.  At one time, I'm sure, they must've had a heat duct going up to the bedroom...but while remodeling it they took out the duct work and put in cupboards.

This did two unfortunate things.  Left me with zero heat registers in my room (thank god for electric blankets) and it gave my mother a cupboard door to slam when yelling to wake me up.

"WAKE (slam) UP (slam) IT'S (slam) TIME (slam) TO (slam) GET (slam) UP"

I get it.  It was a long way across the house and up the stairs and down the hall.  So, she used the best short cut (and most effective way) to get her lazy son out of bed.

In my house now, I go the kids Alexa's.  Now, I don't have to yell or slam cupboards, I simply have to ask "Alexa, Wake up Zoey".  Then it plays music in her room and theoretically wakes her up.  Now, I have to worry about whether she's unplugged the device or not and more often than not I have to run up the stairs to get her butt out of bed myself.

The TikTok isn't just for "flossing" and lip-syncing songs.  There are life hacks that you could learn about too.

Like this one: For $15 each, this lady put a doorbell in each of her kids rooms so she could simply touch a button (labeled properly with each kids names) and the door bell would go off in their room.

Brilliant!  No yelling, no bashing of cupboards...until they realize they can unplug the doorbell.

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!
