We Americans bristle against the seemingly ever increasing 'surveillance state.' One of the base examples of big brother watching is traffic cams. We just seem to resent the concept of a camera catching us doing something we know we shouldn't be doing.

According to reports in the Cedar Rapids Gazette, an Iowa House panel agrees. Yesterday they approved a measure that would ban automated traffic cams in Iowa, overriding any local ordinances allowing them.

House Study Bill 152 has a ways to go before becoming law, if at all, but it sets the wheels in motion to shut off the eye of big brother to our lead foot ways.
