Iowa Cracking Down On Texting While Driving
I was almost killed four years ago when my car was hit by a teenage girl who was texting while driving.
Despite the blatant dangers, and statistics showing increasing numbers of accidents and deaths, so many people think that they're the one who can text behind the wheel without affecting their driving.
The Iowa State Police don't agree with that assessment and they are cracking down on texters thanks to a new Iowa law that says even if you are stopped at a red light, you cannot be on, or looking at your phone. The law states that you must be off the travel portion of the road and fully stopped.
I guess we have to ask ourselves if that text message we receive while in the car is really more important than a life. I can't think of ANY message that is.
