Iowa DOT Backs Off Plan To Toll I-80
Yesterday, we told you about a report from the Iowa Department of Transportation that suggested introducing tolls to Interstate 80 across Iowa. The plan would fund widening and reconstruction of one of America's busiest interstates.
Well, it didn't take long for the Iowa DOT to back off those plans after response from the public. Many folks commenting on our own Facebook page weren't fans of the plan.
That still leaves Iowa on the hook for funding the five-year plan which, so far, is clocking in at $3.5 billion.
Do you think tolls are a good funding mechanism for road construction?
