It's a beautiful Friday to help make a difference in the community and our friends at KWQC are working to do just that.

'Cops N Kids' community book drive is going on today at KWQC studios until 6:30 p.m. They're partnering with Together Making A Better Community and the Davenport Police Department to make it happen.

How To Help

It's easy to help out at 'Cops N Kids'. You don't even have to get out of your car. Just bring some children's books or monetary donations to the KWQC studios (at 805 Brady Street) by 6:30 tonight. If you want to write a check, it needs to be made out to TMBC (Together Making A Better Community). It's an easy turn in off Brady, so stop by on your way home or on your way out of town for the weekend. There's a particular need for "diverse books".

Every book that's donated during the book drive will be given to kids and their families in the QCA.

A lot of us can remember books that we loved as kids (looking at you Rainbow Fish) and this is your chance to introduce a kid to your favorite children's books. If you don't have any more children's books in your house, consider making a monetary donation. This can help kids not only stay on track for reading over the summer but help their literacy in general.

According to KWQC, the event is sponsored by The Book Rack in Davenport and DuTrac Community Credit Union, and 2 Men and a Truck is helping out by bringing boxes and transporting books.
