It's no secret that drive-ins are making a huge come back, and with social distancing back and stronger than ever, drive-ins could keep getting bigger. Many performers are seeing the popularity and jumping on it.

According to the New York Post this is a new trend,

"For the comedy drive-in, a lineup of comedians with credentials including “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Comedy Central and Netflix’s “The Degenerates” stood in the bed of a pickup and delivered their lines to a lot of some 45 socially distanced cars. Audience members paid $32 a car to attend."

Clearly some big names are getting into it. This trend has been growing, and we may even seeing it in the Midwest.

Just a month ago Bruce Campbell brought a safe and fun experience to his fans at Flashback Weekend’s Midway Drive-In Theater in Dixon Illinois.

On Friday, July 10th, Bruce presented his Q & A and introduce a double feature of his cult classics, Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn (1987) and Army of Darkness (1993).

As more comedies start to change up and rework their tours. From big names like Bert Kreischer to local comedians, we are seeing new announcements constantly.

It looks like Summer 2020 could still hold a lot of fun. Here are some local drive-in-theaters.
