The New Palace Tavern-Where Old Meets the New in East Moline

No, I'm not talking about people. Or am I?

The Palace Tavern has been part of the Quad Cities since the 1930s. It's an old beloved part of East Moline's history. After a year's worth of renovations, The Palace is open again and almost everything is brand new.

I remember doing tequila tastings and listening to live music at the Palace back in the early 2000s. If you were there too, you should know everything is different now. Honestly, as much fun as I had back in the day, the bathrooms there were scary and the place definitely needed an upgrade. That's what you'll find at the Palace now.

But not everything is new. The Palace Tavern, 701 15th Avenue, East Moline, recently underwent a year's worth of renovations at a cost of, well, I don't know the cost, but a Palace marketing rep says no expense was spared to update the restaurant that opened earlier this week.

Marketing rep, Angela Corso told me 'everything is updated' including the bathrooms, kitchen, walls. Everything is new except the floors, bar, and ceiling. Those elements were in the original Palace and have been restored to their iconic, original, beautiful, condition.

Project director Cindy Mire, who is also the operations director of E. Moline Glass, was the 'heart and soul' behind The Palace Tavern's new design. She redesigned bathrooms, lighting and saw that the bar was refinished, floors and ceiling were restored. There's also a new outdoor patio space that will be perfect for live music and enjoying food and beverages outdoors.

The Palace is open every day at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner. So far the reviews are good.
